JULY 17, 2020

Today is a happy day indeed for me! I completed 37 Radiation Therapy treatments at the Watson Clinic Cancer and Research Center in Lakeland. All throughout this process, the Radiation Therapy Team was outstanding! I expressed my appreciation to them for their excellent treatment. Throughout this challenge, it has been obvious to me that I did much better than most, if not all, of the people having the same treatment therapy. I know it was because of the tremendous prayer army praying for me. I am very grateful to all of you and have asked my Lord to bless all of you with His abundant blessing. Be sure to see my "Certificate of Completion" that is pictured here.

JULY 4, 2020

On this 244th birthday of our great nation, I am rejoicing and thankful to my Lord for allowing my family and me to be born and to live in America! What an incredible gift! Bess and I gave praise and thanks to our Lord in our devotions early this morning.

I am thanking my Lord that I only have two more weeks, starting Monday, July 6, left in my treatment schedule. My Lord has been with me all the way in this journey. The prayers of my tremendous prayer army, without one doubt, is leading me all the way. Through it all, my energy

level has never wavered! People are telling me that is an amazing thing! God is so good to me!

May our Lord bless America and all of you!

 JUNE 25. 2020

Today, June 25, I went over the halfway mark in my radiation treatment to destroy the cancer cells in my prostate area. I really do believe the prayers of my prayer army are the keys. It is amazing the energy I have for each day. I walk over a mile early every morning before breakfast. Watson Clinic Cancer Center is a great facility with wonderful staff. I am very impressed! A big thanks to all of you that continue to remember me in your prayers. All of you are tremendous!

JUNE 12, 2020

Today, Friday, June 12, I had my 12th treatment to destroy any cancer cells remaining in my pelvis area. Dr. Paryani told me this past Tuesday that he was pleased with the excellent progress to date. I have had no side effects from the treatments. I know it is because of the prayers from my prayer army. My energy level remains very high. As a matter of fact, I am walking one and a half miles every day. God is so good, and all of you that keep me in your prayers are wonderful! I bless all of you in Jesus' Name!

MAY 29, 2020

I just completed my first week of treatments today, May 29, and all went well. The prayers of my friends have been the reason I have not had any complications. I honestly feel great with energy to burn. Bess and I walked 2 miles early this morning to begin our day. I am very grateful for all the prayers. It is a fact, God really does answer prayer!

May 26, 2020

I received great news on my first treatment today. Instead of 48 treatments into August, I will only have to do 38 ending on July 16. It really goes without saying, I was thrilled with the news! Here again, is proof that prayer really works. I am so grateful for all the prayers of so many people. A special thanks to so many of you for your encouraging comments and your walk of faith. What an army!

MAY 25, 2020

I am anxious to begin the process leading to complete healing tomorrow, May 26, at Watson Clinic Cancer Center. They are calling tomorrow's filming day, a walkthrough on the daily process for the next eight weeks. My daily appointment is at 9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. I am so grateful for the prayers of so many people. Through this challenge I am being encouraged with cards, texts, e-mails, and phone calls.

MAY 7, 2020

Today, May 7, is a happy day! The markings for radiation were all successful, and May 26 was chosen as the beginning date for the radiation process to begin. I will have a born again nurse attendant to guide me through the two-month challenge. She let me know that she was not ashamed of the gospel, and was standing on the Word of God to save our nation. She also said she knew I was a preacher when we first met. I am so glad I had a good attitude and a happy expression at that first meeting. It really does pay to serve Jesus!

A big thank goes to all of you that have been praying me through my physical challenge. Your words of encouragement have been a great source of strength for me. I am praying for my dear Lord to bless all of you richly.

The third time is the charm! I have been to the clinic two times for my simulation, (marking my body for radiation treatments); only to be told I had to come back this Thursday, May 7, to complete the simulation. So I am counting on the  "charm" and prayer, of course from my prayer army. I really do want this procedure to be completedI am still standing on Rom.8:28; “And we know that ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” KJV

APRIL 30, 2020

Hello to all our cancer journey walkers!!!

Charles has left the house, on his way to Watson Clinic Cancer & Research Center for his CT Simulation.  This is when a scan is performed to get images in order to define the area of treatment.  The area to be treated is positioned, x-rayed, & measured.  Lines are drawn on the skin to mark exactly where the radiation will be directed. Dr. Paryani has told us that Charles will not start his treatments for a couple of weeks or so.

Some specific prayers might be:

1. That the markings are marked exactly.

2. That the dosage is just the right amount for CK.

3. That Charles' side effects are mild to non-existent.

4. That the treated area be free from irritation.

5. That Charles has much daily strength instead of lots of tiredness.

6. That our cancer medical team be always enlightened by our Lord, in all matters concerning Charles' health & treatment.

7. That Charles' last radiation treatment will be the "sight" of our healing miracle "faith."

Please read my latest blog coming out this Saturday with info about the cancer center.

Charles is home now and has some information to add.

Here's Charles...

My CT Simulation scheduled for today had to be rescheduled for Monday at 2:00 p.m. due to some issues that arose after I arrived. Even though it was disappointing to me, I know my Lord is in total control of all of my comings and goings. I am very grateful for all of the prayers going up daily for me.

GOD ANSWERS PRAYER! The good news from the doctor today was the CT/PET SCAN revealed that my cancer was localized and not spread to other parts of my body. Since my PSA was so high, the doctor thought the possibility of it spreading was very high. He said, "The good news today is that there is no sign of it even in the margin areas of your prostate." To say the least, Bess and I were extremely thankful with Dr. Paryani's report and rejoiced as we drove away from the cancer center.

This Thursday, April 30, I meet with Dr. Paryani to mark my body for radiation treatment. I will have 8 weeks of radiation, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, beginning in about two weeks. This will give us time to spend several days checking on our cabins. A big thanks for all the prayers so many of you have prayed for my physical challenge. God has heard and answered your prayers!

 APRIL 27, 2020

Charles and I arrived at RIS, the radiology and imaging mobile unit, by 1:15 p.m. today.  For me (Bess), I was not allowed to go in with Charles in either place, the permanent building, or the mobile unit.  We were told that the CT/PET Scan would take about 2 hours.  Charles was called to the mobile unit at about 1:30 p.m. I left to go shopping, only to find out that the store I chose was not opened; I then went to Chuck's and Kaye's home; and, I was called by the nurse at 2:30 p.m. that Charles was ready to be picked up.

Due to the IV dye, Charles remains radioactive for 24 hours.  He can't be around any young people 18 years or less; nor pregnant woman; nor nursing moms.  There were the possibilities of injury to nerves, burning sensations, and redness of the skin; but, he hasn't had any of these. That's a big Praise The Lord!!! Charles made it through fine.  All went well; and, we get the results tomorrow from Dr. Paryani.

Before we left the house this morning, we quoted great promises from God's Word, read our devotional book, read Scripture, and prayed.  Then on our way to RIS, we listened to the Collingsworth's song, "FEAR NOT TOMORROW."  You know the song that says," God is already there"?

Thank you all for your great faith and fervent prayers.  We love you so much.  Thanks for sharing our journey.

We will post another medical update on our website tomorrow after our appointment at 1:45 p.m. EST.

A special message to my prayer army: God is answering your prayers!

I have not mentioned a weakness that I have experienced several times recently that has concerned me. Two nights ago Bess was getting ready to take me to the emergency room, but I decided to weather my "storm" here. The rest of the night, Bess slept in her street clothes. We just prayed. During this time I have really felt the prayers of my wonderful army of prayers. It has been two days since the last one. I know it is because of the prayers of so many in my challenge, that God is helping me! I just wanted to thank all of you, and give my wonderful Lord praise and glory!

Don't forget, Monday, April 27, I go for a CT/PET scan and on Tuesday, April 28, I will see the Oncologist.

God bless all of you!

 APRIL 20, 2020

Good morning!

Here's our latest medical information.  Charles has a CT PET scan Monday, April 27, 2020, here in Lakeland at RIS Imaging on Lakeland Hills Blvd. in the mobile unit at 2 p.m.  It will last about an hour or so.  Pray that there will be no cancer!!! Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Our second appointment with Dr. Paryani, Radiation Oncologist is Tuesday, April 28 at 1:45 p.m. where we're sure we will talk about the options/treatments.

Charles often says, "We walk by faith, not by sight." And I'm saying, "God has it all under His control."

We must add our THANKS to all of you who have so faithfully prayed powerful, earnest prayers, sent emails, texts, cards, made phone calls and Facebook posts, plus messages.  Whatever you have done to encourage us, we say THANKS.  We love holding the hands (symbolically) of dear Christian friends on this cancer journey.  Thank you so much.  Keep up your good work!!!

 April 16, 2020

Good morning to all:

We found out this morning that Charles' doctor anticipates that the scanning procedure will be on Tuesday, April 21.  At this writing, we have not heard from the imaging center to set up the time of the appointment. Charles has something he'd like to share with you.

Here he is:

"Bess and I have been overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of prayer support, love and very kind expressions from so many people where we have ministered through the years, across America, from California to Virginia Beach; from Indiana to Texas; from states between, and across Canada. Once again it really has caused me to count my blessings, knowing I am a very blessed man! I thank and bless each one of you for your support. It is a fact, I am walking by faith and not by sight, covered by the wings of my dear Lord!"

April 14, 2020

In the next week or so, Charles will have an imaging scan ( maybe like an MRI ) using dye to illuminate the cancer spots. After that report goes to Doctor Paryani, Charles will return for the doctor's recommendation for treatment.  The recommendation will be determined by the results of the imaging scan. The options are:

1. hormone treatment in the form of a shot.

2. 45 radiation treatments, Monday through Friday At Watson Clinic Cancer Center.

His treatments will be one of these OR both of these.  Continue to pray for him; pray specifically that should he need any cancer treatment, it would only be the hormone shot.  Thanks very much.
